Full & Partial Rewires
A full rewire replaces every circuit, socket and switch in your home with a modern, safely certified system. It's essential for properties with old fabric-covered or aluminium wiring, or anyone buying a period house in Sheffield without recent electrical history. We also carry out partial rewires, upgrading a single room or floor without disturbing the rest of the property. Every rewire is planned around your home, not a standard template. We walk the property with you first, agree exactly what's being replaced and where new sockets or lighting points will go, then give you a fixed price before any work starts. Installation includes a dedicated circuit from your consumer unit, correct earthing arrangements for your property type, and load management set-up where needed so charging doesn't overload your supply. We handle OZEV grant paperwork where you're eligible, and can advise on tethered versus untethered units, charging speed, and the best wall or post-mounted position for your driveway or garage. Most installations across Sheffield, Rotherham and the surrounding area are completed in half a day. From £850 fitted, depending on cable run length and whether any consumer unit upgrade is needed first.
Electrical Safety Certificates (EICR)
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a full inspection of your property's fixed wiring, sockets, switches and consumer unit, checked against current safety standards and classified for any defects found. Landlords in Sheffield and South Yorkshire are legally required to have one carried out every five years, and many mortgage lenders and insurers now ask for a recent report too. We inspect the full installation, test every circuit, and issue a clear pass/fail report with any defects graded by severity, so you know what, if anything, needs fixing and how urgent it is. Reports are usually turned around within 48 hours of the inspection. From £150 for a typical 3-bedroom property.
